Dimapur, November 9: Nagaland Measles Rubella vaccination campaign (MRVC) has successfully immunized 4,19,460 children through 2,988 school and 2,332 outreach sessions, reaching a total coverage of 93.52% as on November 8.
In a release, the Health and Welfare Department hoped that the State will attain 100% coverage in the next few days.
“The tireless efforts put in by the Administration, Colony/Ward/Village Chairman, Religious leaders, NGOs and health professionals stands testament to the conviction in the efforts to eliminate Measles and protect our children from Rubella diseases,” it said.
The department said it has been organizing repeated school and outreach sessions to make sure that no child is left unvaccinated and be potential threat to fellow students and community by spreading measles/rubella which is easily preventable through vaccination.
MR vaccine is still available in all Government health facilities (District Hospital, CHC, PHC and Sub-Centre’s) for children between 9 months to 15 years who has missed MR vaccination at school or outreach sessions due to various reasons. Parents have been requested to visit the nearest health facility at the earliest to get your children vaccinated. (Page News Service)
