MoRTH to take up foothill road works

Dimapur, September 12: Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio has assured the Nagaland Foothill Road Construction Committee (NFHRCC) to take initiative to start earth cutting works on the remaining 8 kilometers (5 km in Niuland & 3 km in Naginimora) for the foothill road at the onset of working season.
This was revealed by NFHRCC members at a press briefing today.
The NFHRCC also informed that the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) has given a green signal to take up the foothill road construction under the nomenclature Trans Expressway (Foothill Road).
The committee further informed that NFHRCC had met the contractor of Doyang Bridge and the contractor had assured that he will resume work on a war footing at the onset of the working season.
Earlier in a meeting today, the NFHRCC resolved to call on the Chief Minister at the earliest with a view to impress upon him to issue work order for the 8 km “undone portion” of the foothill road.
Meanwhile the committee appealed to the general public to have full faith on the assurance given by the Chief Minister that he will take care of the foothill road construction.
