Dimapur, September 6: A combined Teachers’ Day 2018 celebration took place at Pfutsero Sports Complex on September 5 under the aegis of Pfutsero Town Schools Association with Rev. Dr. Vezopa Tetseo, Executive Secretary, Chakhesang Baptist Church Council as the guest speaker.
Maintaining that teachers are the asset of the society, Rev. Dr. Tetseo challenged the teachers and students to work hard to be able to catch up with the rest of the world. He urged the students to always respect and honour the teachers as they are people who have dedicated their life for their betterment.
Vechikhoyi Lohe, principal, GHSS Pfutsero led the pledge taking by the teachers to renew their commitment and dedication to the profession.
Since 2015, Neiba Kronu, minister for planning and coordination and land revenue Nagaland has been sponsoring combined teachers day celebration at Pfutsero to encourage the teachers and students to make Pfutsero the centre of quality education.
The programme was led by Kelhikha Kenye, vice principal GHSS Pfutsero.

About 350 teachers and 3000 students attended the function.
Tseminyu: Various educational institutions in Tseminyu Sub-Division celebrated Teachers’ Day on September 5 at Baptist Higher Secondary School (BHSS) Tseminyu.
Presentations of gospel songs, choreography and cultural songs by students were highlights of the celebration program. Teachers were presented gifts on the occasion as token of honor and respect by the students community of the School.
GHSS Tseminyu: Government Higher Secondary School, Tseminyu has formally observed Teachers’ day program at its Auditorium. G.Hile Tsela (student) conducted the program, where Bensi Khing invoked God’s Blessings for the program.
The speech in honour and admirations of the school teachers was delivered by Khwentila (school captain) and the speech on behalf of teachers was said by Loyalo Apon (Vice Principal).
DBS Tseminyu: Don Bosco School Tseminyu formally conducted Teachers’ Day celebrations program at its School compound. Speech on behalf of students was said by Apenlo Jasu, and gifts were given to teachers at the same time as token of honor and respect from the students community of the School. A short note was shared to the students by Rev. Fr. Jose at the same time in commemoration of the Teachers’ day.
GHS Chunlikha: GHS Chunlikha celebrated Teachers’ Day at its auditorium. The leader of the program was Nendilo Magh. The speech on behalf of the Students and acknowledgement to Teachers were delivered by Gail Sep and Hanchule Tep respectively.
Assistant Headmistress of the school delivered speech on behalf of the teachers on the occasion. Vote of thanks for the celebration program was said by Christy Magh.
Eden Boarding School, Aghunato: With the rest of schools in the states, Teachers’ day 2018 was celebrated in Eden Boarding School Aghunato Town on 5th September 2018.
Dances, choreography, songs and traditional shows performed by the students marked the day as special one.
This year, the celebration could not be held involving all the schools, due to non-posting of SDEO Aghunato. All the schools in Aghunato town celebrated the “Teachers’ day” in their respective schools.
GHSS Bhandari: Government Higher Secondary School Bhandari town celebrated Teachers’ Day at the Hr. Secondary campus.
Youth Evangelist, Pethungo Humtsoe pronounced a special prayer for teachers and short speech was delivered by Principal Government Higher Secondary School, Bhandari.
Highlights of the day included cultural show, choreography, fancy dress show, and dances.
