Dear Madam,
With soaring temperatures in recent years, it’s becoming evident that Dimapur’s green cover is not sufficient to mitigate the heat. Trees not only provide shade and cool the air, but also help reduce air pollution and contribute to the conservation of local biodiversity. Our historical bond with nature, which is an integral part of our Naga culture, is under threat. A more aggressive tree-planting initiative is needed. Moreover, we must enforce regulations preventing unnecessary felling of trees.
