I found him to be an efficient and straightforward bureaucrat with conscientious determination to serve the Government and the people. Unlike many Nagas, tribalism was something totally absent in his psyche, and all and sundry who met him recalled this fact. This could be due to the fact that though he was born an Angami from the largest Naga village Kohima, he grew up in Impur/ Mopungchuket and later on, assumed citizenship of Mopungchuket village, and married an Ao lady,” said NDPP president Chingwang Konyak in a condolence message.
