More condemns police assault on doctor

Dimapur, April 5: The Chakhroma Youth Organization has condemned the assault on Dr Nosezol Sezo, Senior Medical Officer, Medziphema, Quarantine Officer for Covid-19 in Dimapur district and a member of the organization on the night of April 3 by the police.
It is very unfortunate and uncalled for that an incident such as this happened to a medical doctor who was putting his life on the line in the call of duty, it said.
Acknowledging the wisdom and timely intervention of the Director General of Police, the CYO demanded that the erring police personnel be booked and terminated from service immediately.
The union also appealed the law enforcing authority to meticulously brief the personnel before they are deployed and to maintain the right norms/protocols and local ethos besides their own. It warned that if any such incident occurs, the CYO won’t remain a silent spectator.
KGOF: The Kidima Gazetted Officers’ Forum (KGOF) has vehemently condemned the brutal assault on one of its member, Dr Nosezol Sezo, Senior Specialist (Orthopaedic) and Quarantine Officer for Covid-19 on the night of April 3 by Special Task Force Police at Purana Bazaar, Dimapur while returning home from Covid-19 duty.
“It is very unfortunate and even more painful to know that a sincere and dedicated doctor performing duties overtime in the interest of public was not only physically assaulted but also vandalized his vehicle for not wearing a mask in spite of identifying himself a doctor,” it said.
The KGOF appealed to the competent authority to take disciplinary action against the culprit(s) at the earliest so as to avoid any such untoward incident in future.
RCK: The Rotetso Clan Kidima village ihas expressed pain at the brutal assault and high handedness of Special Task Force Police on one of its family members Dr. Nosezol Sezo, Senior Specialist (Orthopaedic) and Quarantine Officer for Covid-19 under Dimapur district while returning home from his official duty on April 3 at Purana Bazaar, Dimapur.
Strongly condemning such intolerable and uncivilized physical assault, the clan demanded immediate and prompt disciplinary action on the erring security personnel involved in the incident either by suspension or termination from service without further delay.
The RCK also appreciated DGP Nagaland, T. J. Longkumer, IPS for tendering apology on behalf of his personnel and requested him to expedite the inquiry/investigation and deliver justice at the earliest.
ASTD: The Ao Senso Telongjem Dimapur (ASTD) has condemned physical assault on Dr Sezo, Senior Medical Officer, Medziphema by police personal on April 3 near Purana Bazaar, Dimapur who was returning home from duty after day long hectic duties.
The Union appealed to the concerned authority to take appropriate action against the erring personal(s) as per provision of Law.
The ASTD stated that at this hour of stress and tension due to the pandemic caused by COVID-19 all over the world, the law enforcing agencies especially the police personals, Special Task Force must be well versed about the frontline workers of Doctors, Nurses and Medical staffs who are risking their lives combating the dreadful COVID-19 are no less important than the security personals to refrain from crossing the line during the Lockdown vigilance.
The ASTD further appealed and requested the general public of Dimapur to adhere to the guidelines and directives adopted and issued by the State Government as well as District Administration for our own prevention and safety at large.
