Monsoon session adjourned sine die

KOHIMA, AUGUST 5: The Nagaland Legislative Assembly (NLA) Speaker Sharingain Longkumer today adjourned the 3-day monsoon session sine die.
The session started on August 3 taking up a total of 19 starred questions and 8 unstarred questions from opposition NPF MLAs.


The House made an obituary reference to the passing away of 6 former legislators – Khutovi Sema, K Imlong Chang, PK Along, N Yeshito Chishi, Dr. KC Nihoshe and T Kikon and an incumbent MLA Advisor Toshi Wungtung during the intercession period on the first day.
Two Government bills, moved by the Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio, which includes the “Nagaland Professions, Trades, Callings and Employment Taxation (5th Amendment) Bill, 2020” and the “The Nagaland Lokayukta (Amendment) No.2 Bill, 2021” were passed by voice vote today in the concluding of the 8th session of the 13th NLA.
During the session, Advisor for School Education and Chairman of the Public Accounts Committee, K Tokugha Sukhalu presented the 125th Report of the Committee on Public Accounts (2021-2022) on the Examination of the Report of the Comptroller & Auditor General of India for the year 2016-2017 on the State Finances Audit Report and Audit Reports on the Social, Economic, Revenue, and the General sectors.
Member and Chairman of the Committee on Subordinate Legislation, MLA Dr. Chotisuh Sazo, laid the 66th Report on the Nagaland Shops and Establishment Rules, 2015, the 67th Report on the Action Taken by the Government on the 55th Report on the Nagaland Labour Service Rules, 2014, the 68th Report on the Nagaland Rights of Persons with Disabilities Rules, 2019, the 69th Report on the Action Taken by the Government on the 62nd Report on the Nagaland Agricultural Produce Marketing (General) Rules, 2006, the 70th Report on the Action Taken by the Government on the 42nd Report on the Nagaland Police Service Rules, 2006.
Member and Chairman of the Committee on Government Assurances, Y Vikheho Swu, presented the 98th Report on the Assurances given by the Government during the 2nd Session of the 13th Nagaland Legislative Assembly and the 99th Report on the Assurances given by the Government during the 1st Session of the 13th Nagaland Legislative Assembly.
Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio tabled the Report of the Comptroller & Auditor General of India on General, Economic and Revenue Sectors for the year ended March 31, 2019.
Deputy Chief Minister Y Patton, fulfilling the assurance made on August 3 to MLA Kuzholuzo Nienu, today tabled the Report of the Commission on Register of Indigenous Inhabitants of Nagaland (RIIN).


NLA Commissioner & Secretary, PJ Antony reported the assent of the Governor of Nagaland to the Nagaland Goods and Services Tax (4th Amendment) Bill, 2020, the Nagaland Fiscal Responsibility and Budget Management (Amendment) Bill, 2021 and the Nagaland Appropriation Number 1 to 4 Bill, 2021, passed by the House in the Budget session in February.
Chief Minister Rio laid on the table a copy of the Annual Report 2019-2020 of the Nagaland Information Commission while Minister for Tribal Affairs and Higher Education, Temjen Imna Along tabled the Rules and Bye-Laws of Nagaland Eklavya Model Residential Schools Management Society.
