Mon, Kiphire DPDB meeting held

Dimapur, May 17: Mon District Planning and Development Board meeting was conducted on May 15 at DC’s conference hall. The meeting began with a review of the last meeting minutes by the Deputy Commissioner of Mon, Ajit Kumer Verma.
The house discussed the recognition and upgradation of various schools and institutions including, recognition of National Boundary School, Sheanghah Wamsa Village up to class VIII and up-gradation of Shahgoth School, Sheanghah Chingnyu Village, St. Paul School, Angjangyang ans Puhu kinjong School to class VIII, and Naginimora, GHS Tizit Village to GHSS.
Wangkhao Government College Principal Dr. T Chandrasakharan gave a PowerPoint presentation on the stalled construction related to UGC Women Hostel at Wangkhao Government College Campus, Mon.
District Planning Officer, V Aron Sema has informed the members about the submission of Department profile and activities to include in the upcoming District Annual Plan (LADF) 2024 before June 15.
Also, the monthly DPDB meeting of Kiphire was held on May 15 held under the chairmanship of DC Kiphire, Temsuwati Longkumer.
Reviewing the last meeting minutes, the members discussed on upgradation of Yangphi Govt. High School to Govt. Higher Secondary School where the concerned department has been directed to relocate the area, as the present location is not feasible to raise additional infrastructures for upgradation. While the proposal for construction of security fencing around the office of Chief Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Service was deferred to the next meeting.
Under Aspirational District Programme, certificates and toolkit were distributed to the candidates who were successfully trained on ‘bamboo handicraft’. DC Kiphire, Temsuwati encouraged the successful persons to use their innovations to create items essential for daily use and has more market demands to generate their own income for self-sufficiency. Deliberating on the need for State Disaster Responsive Force Personnel in the district, the members decided to forward to the NDRF for approval.
Principal of Zisaji Presidency College highlighted their program regarding attachment of students to various departments and offices as internship program. In this regard the board agreed to sign MOU with the college after deliberating at length.
Later the DC urged the heads of office in the District to assist the students in all possible ways.
All heads of the department under Kiphire were reminded to submit the latest Department Profile to the DPO (Planning) on or before June 5. ADC Robin informed all the heads of offices to be aware and prepared for the upcoming ULB election 2024 in the district.
