DIMAPUR, JANUARY 14: An awareness-cum-sensitization programme on COVID-19 for the Home Guards, Women Home Guards and State Disaster Response Force personnel from the district establishment was held at the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) conference hall, Mokokchung from January 11 to 13.
During a brief programme held on the first day, Dr. Kibangkumba, Deputy Chief Medical Officer, highlighted the importance of the sensitization initiative. As part of frontline workers, they were made to understand the need to be prepared for any situation arising out of the COVID-19 pandemic and the need to stay safe so as to protect the population at large.
Topics covered include: hand washing, handling of dead bodies, preventive measures, rational use of PPE, demonstration on donning/doffing of PPE (gloves, mask, full PPE etc.), infection control, preparation of bleach solution/sodium hypochlorite and laundry, by the following resource persons Dr. Aonungdok, MMBS, PGDPHM, MPH (Epidemiology & Health Systems), Dr. Tsipongchem Sangtam, MD (Pathology) and Dr. Akumtemjen, District Epidemiologist and Dr. Tiasunep.
A total of 51 (fifty one) participants attended the 3-day programme in 3 different batches from the district establishment of HGs, CD and SDRF, Mokokchung. All SOPs/guidelines on COVID-19 issued by the govt. were strictly observed.
