Mishra, NSCN (IM) hold another round of talks

KOHIMA, OCTOBER 25: Another round of official talks between the Union Government and National Socialist Council of Nagalim (Isak-Muivah) was held today at New Delhi to break the deadlock.
An NSCN (IM) source said another round of talk was held between Centre’s Interlocutor AK Mishra and the Naga group, led by Chief Negotiator and General Secretary of NSCN, Thuingaleng Muivah. Details of today’s crucial talks could not be ascertained but the NSCN insider said efforts are being made to break the stalemate, even as the Naga leaders continue to stick to their two key demands ~ separate flag and constitution for Nagalim (Nagaland). The demand, which the Central Government was not willing to concede to but the NSCN ruled out any agreement without the two demands.
Another NSCN functionary confirmed that there was no progress in the talks, but both sides have expressed seriousness to iron out differences in the talks so that solution could be hammered out.
Along with the NSCN General Secretary, Chairman, Q Tuccu and Vice Chairman, Tongmeth Wangnao, and several to brass are camping at New Delhi. (Page News Service)
