Kohima, April 19: Minister for Higher and Technical Education and Tribal Affairs Temjen Imna Along and his friends did Good Samaritan again to a woman struggling for her life at a private hospital here.
The Minister and his friends collected Rs. 4,86,000 for a mother of five, Mangsha Konyak who is in a critical condition and admitted in Intensive Care Unit (ICU) in Bethel Hospital. The woman has been diagnosed with Bradycardia and needs a Pacemaker that would cost upto to Rs. 5 lakhs, which is too expensive for the woman and her family.
Mangsha resides in AG Colony with her children-the eldest is 17 years old. There was an appeal on social media pleading for help.
According to Minister Along’s spokesman he contributed Rs. 51000 to the patient. “How fortunate to have such a minister, whose concern for the wellbeing of the people in times of need is magnanimous in though, word and deed,” the spokesman said.
During his stint as minister for the last two years the minister has been known for his Good Samaritan works, and for which he has received as much as necessary of appreciations from various quarters. (Page News Service)
