Minister Kronu takes over as new NCA president


Kohima, August 15: Minister for Planning & Coordination and Land Revenue, Neiba Kronu yesterday said that Nagaland Chess Association would bring into light the much needed coaching and training facilities for young players with the target being the school children.
Officially taking over the charge as NCA president at red Cross Conference Hall today, Kronu expressed keenness and love for the sports, the nature and pace at which the game have progressed.
He said that the importance of Chess can be seen from the fact that European countries has taken up Chess as a part of the curriculum in all the educational institutes while Indian states such as Gujarat, Tamilnadu, Andhra Pradesh etc have already made Chess a compulsory component of the Academic Curriculum.
Accepting the NCA presidency, he asserted that focus would be made on providing coaching and training facilities for young players and improves the overall standard of the game in the State.
