Minister inspects markets in Kohima

Dimapur, April 22: Minister in-charge for Kohima District on COVID-19, Tongpang Ozukum along with Kohima District Task Force inspected the shopping hotspots Wednesday morning from 8 am.
The minister accompanied by Khriehu Liezietsu, MLA, Deputy Commissioner, ADC and other officials noted that comparing to other shopping days, the market place scenario has totally transformed for the better and shared his appreciation to the public on realizing the importance of maintaining social distance.
“We cannot totally stop people who comes out to buy their needs like food and other essential commodities, so the only way is to strictly maintain distance in the shopping place as it is the only weapon in the arsenal to fight this pandemic”, he said.
The minister also thanked the various committee on implementation of social distancing for strictly enforcing the directives. He thanked the Angami Students’ Union for their noble initiative of assisting stranded students residing in Kohima.
After the inspection at BOC area, Razhu Point and High School areas, the team went to KMC Tool Gate to inspect the sanitization of vehicles which is being initiated by KMC. (Page News Service)
