Mhasilhousie & Neikerhezo are WAYO wrestling champions

Winners of senior and junior wrestling event with others on February 8 in Kohima.

Kohima, February 9: Mhasilhousie Nagi of Jotsoma village (Group-C) emerged as the wrestling champion of the 58th Sports Meet of Western Angami Youth Organization (WAYO), which concluded at Khuochiezie, Kohima on February 8.
In the final bout, Nagi defeated Kevizhakho Suokhrie of Jotsoma (Group-C).
Kekhriezo Nagi of Sechü Zubza (Group-D) and Lhouvikhoto Vakha of Khonoma (Group-B) bagged third and fourth positions respectively.
The winners pocketed a cash prize of Rs 80,000, Rs. 50,000, Rs 40,000 and Rs 30,000 respectively.
Losing quarter-finalists Kevisezo Nipu of Group-D, Rokolhuto Suokhrie of Group-C, Pehievilie Punyü of Group-B and Seyiejalie Gwirie of Group-C received Rs 5000 each.
In Junior category, Neikerhezo Zhünyu of Sechü Zubza bagged the champion title and was awarded with a cash prize of Rs 30,000. Sedenei Nakhro of Jotsoma stood second position and received Rs 20,000. Kevizetuo Kuotsu of Sechü Zubza and Casavi Sophi of Khonoma won third and fourth place and received Rs 15,000 and Rs 10,000 respectively.
Gracing the inaugural function as special guest, NPF MLA Keneizhakho Nakhro challenged the sportspersons to work hard and focus on professional development.
Later, Gonei-u Sirie gave away prize to the winners at the prize distribution ceremony.`
