Jotsoma, December 9: Mewetshoü Dianu from Phek district was on Sunday crowned Miss Nagaland 2018 at a glittering ceremony organized by Beauty and Aesthetic Society of Nagaland at RCEMPA Hall, Jotsoma.
The 20 year old reigning Miss Phek with vital statistics of 33-26-36 overcame 10 other contestants in the semi-final rounds while also stealing the attention of the judges and audience with her answers in the final rounds.
To a question on winning the title tonight, Mewetshoü said, “Miss Nagaland is not only a title but a responsibility and by winning the crown she desires to be a role model to voice out the concern and welfare for women.”
Grace W Ezung (23) from Wokha and Bendangkokla (20) from Mokokchung were adjudged the first and second runners-up respectively.
The first three winners received cash award of Rs 1.5 lakh, Rs 1 lakh and Rs 70,000 respectively along with gift hampers.
The sub-titles winners were Miss Talent – Neinghainem Kuki, Dimapur; Miss Photogenic – Aka Achumi, Zunheboto; Miss Perfect 10 – Mewetshoü Dianu, Phek; Queen of Hearts – Vekhotolu Lohe, Kohima; Miss Empower – Tsuniholi, Zunheboto; Miss Multimedia – Martola, Mokokchung and Best Evening Gown – Vekhotolu Lohe, Kohima. The sub-title winners also received cash awards and gift hampers.
Nagaland Governor, P B Acharya along with his wife Kavita Acharya graced the occasion as special guest. (Page News Service)
