Dimapur, July 4: Group Captain G. S. Vohra (Rtd.), who is presently serving as the director of Mewar University located in Chittorgarh (Rajasthan), today announced that the university has designed a ‘special study package’ for the students of Northeast India regardless of the students belonging to SC/ST/OBC or general category.
Giving details about the package, he said if a student hailing from NE opts to get admitted in the university, he/she would only have to pay a onetime registration fee of Rs. 10,000 in the name of the university and then for each consecutive year he/she will have to pay a fixed amount of Rs. 70,000 per year for the fooding and lodging in the university campus which has full-fledged hostel facilities for both boys and girls in a secured environment and there won’t be any tuition fee for him/her.
Interacting with media fraternity here at Hotel Jalmahal, Dimapur, he said, the students will be given free study materials and uniforms and they can choose to study any of the more than 300 courses in various disciplines that the university offers including the recently added courses on Aeronautics for which an aircraft has been availed by paying the same amount and for SC/ST students, there will be a relaxation of 5% marks to get admitted.
Captain Vohra said that the mission of the university is to reach the unreached and give quality education to the poorest of the poor and thereby, it doesn’t move with a profit motive in mind and promised a 100% placement guarantee.
Talking about the university, he said that it is approved by UGC and is spread over 30 acres of land adjacent to NH 79 and is easily accessible by road and rail network. The closest airport is Udaipur.
