Methaneilie to take stage for NAYO musical night on Oct 28

Kohima, October 24: Come this weekend – October 28 and the Northern Angami Youth Organization (NAYO) is bringing together legendary local musician Methaneilie Jütakhrie along with popular artist during the NAYO Musical Night as part of its 25 anniversary on October 28 at Kohima Local Ground, Khuochiezie from 5 pm onwards.
Established in 1993, NAYO comprises of 31 villages with around 5000 members and during this 25 years NAYO has produced many artists especially in the field of music, said organizing committee convener of the jubilee celebration, Kekhriengulie Theünuo while addressing a press conference here this evening.
The musical night is to celebrate the talents and achievements of the youth in the field of music and the artists are all from Northern Angami jurisdiction.
Theünuo said Methaneilie Jütakhrie is composing the NAYO 25th anniversary theme song, which would be released by him the same evening, besides presenting some favourite oldies.
Other artists include Euphony Choir, Ruokuovotuo Pfüsenuo, Dziesekhrienuo Keretsü, Visetuo Chüpuo, Thejaneinuo Kiewhuo, Kikrusenuo Kiewhuo, Thejangulie Metha, Keneisedenuo & sisters and Mhasizolie Metsieo.
He also informed that entry to the musical night has been fixed at Rs 1000 for donor with double entry and Rs 200 for gallery.
Theünuo informed that as part of the yearlong celebration of 25th anniversary, a mass social work will be organised by NAYO in the first part of November with the entire youth members of NAYO engaging in clearing the National Highway-2, Kohima till Botsa. Inauguration of NAYO office cum hall in honour of 25th anniversary is also fixed on November 7 at Chiephobozou.
The main jubilee celebration will be held on December 5 coinciding with the annual Hornbill Festival in collaboration with the state government. One of the main events will be stone pulling ceremony coinciding with the Hornbill Festival of Nagaland. The stone pulling ceremony will be start at Chiechama and till Chiephobozou- Northern Angami Centre gate, he said, adding that NAYO is expecting a good number of both domestic and international tourists to join the celebration.
Chiephobozou lies around 23 km from state capital Kohima.
