Kohima, December 19: A super-structured community building of Merama Khel, Phesama Village designed to cater to multipurpose needs was inaugurated today with Vilelie Khamo, Class-1 contractor as special guest.
“Let the dwelling be an embodiment of excellence and let it exemplify the spirit of community,” Khamo exhorted while delivering the dedicatory speech. He encouraged the khel to utilise the building purposefully and make it a legacy for the coming generation.
Ketoupuzo Lhoushe, convenor, Building Committee giving a brief report stated that the 4-storeyed building will serve varying use of more than the khel’s need. The structure, provisioned for hosting tourists and guests, has conference hall, kitchen, dining space, bedded rooms and suites. “The building can also be a source of income generation for the Khel youths,” he said.
The structure was constructed at a cost of Rs 72 lakh and was designed by Richard Belho. The construction started in 2013.
