Memorial of Capt Neikezhakuo unveiled at SS Punglwa


Dimapur, July 15: A memorial of Captain Neikezhakuo Kenguruse, Maha Vir Chakra was unveiled at Sainik School, Punglwa at a ceremony by the Assam Rifles Battalion under the aegis of IGAR (N) on July 15.
Captain N. Kenguruse, Maha Vir Chakra was an alumnus of St. Xavier’s School who completed his schooling on 26th April, 1990. He was later commissioned as an officer into the Indian Army on 12th December 1998 in the Rajputana Rifles. He laid down his life in service to the nation in the highest traditions of the Indian Army during the Kargil War. His indomitable courage and valour led the battalion to achieve one of the most daunting missions assigned to it. He was awarded the Maha Vir Chakra, the second highest award in the face of enemy for this act of gallantry.
The memorial was unveiled by his parents Neiselie and Dinuo who were the chief guests of the event. The unveiling ceremony was also attended by IGAR (North), Offg DIG 6 Sector AR, SP Peren and other civil administration and the students of Sainik School, Punglwa. Wreaths were laid by the guests at the memorial and they motivated the young students to emulate the values displayed by Captain N. Kenguruse, Maha Vir Chakra.
