Meeting reviews activities undertaken to prevent Dengue

Dimapur, November 3: A meeting of the State Task Force Team on Vector Borne and Other Communicable Diseases was convened by V Kezo, Commissioner & Secretary H&FW on November 3 at the Conference Hall of Health & Family Welfare Department, Nagaland Civil Secretariat, to review the activities undertaken to prevent Dengue & to discuss measures to be adopted to tackle its rising cases in the State of Nagaland. The meeting was attended by senior officers from DH&FW and representatives from allied Departments.
Highlighting on the issues and experiences of high surge of dengue cases in Mon & Dimapur districts, V Kezo urged all the stakeholders departments to brace up for the coming year and be much more proactive.
He also reiterated that Mon district needs to undergo a very intensive awareness campaign for which he also requested all the allied departments to come forward and share their ideas & inputs as to how and in what manner we can contribute to the overall initiative of incurring the idle condition.
Kezo appealed all the stakeholder departments to coordinate and work out plan to go through a state of preparedness.
Former SPO, NVBDCP Dr. Neisakho Kere gave a detailed presentation on Dengue, status of dengue cases district wise, activities conducted and ongoing, potential roles of various departments and agencies in tackling the rise of dengue cases, prevention, diagnosis & treatment.
