Meeting of political parties held at Noklak, Kohima

Dimapur, November 16: Meeting of Political Parties was held on November 16 in the Office Chamber of Deputy Commissioner and District Election Officer, Noklak in connection with the publication of Draft Electoral roll with 1st January 2020 as qualifying date in respect of 56th and 57th Assembly Constituencies.
Deputy Commissioner said that any claim for inclusion or any objection on the particulars in the electoral roll entry should be lodged on or before 15th Dec 2020 through relevant forms. He encouraged the members to extend their co-operation for maintaining a clean Electoral roll which is the basic requirement for conducting free and fair elections.
The meeting being the first of its kind after upgrading to Election District status, Deputy Commissioner urged the members to extend their full support in all the endeavours for the development of the District. P. Puching Lam BLO, Supervisor Assembly Constituency reminded the Political Parties to nominate BLAs for assisting the BLOs during the exercise particularly, during the special camps. The meeting ended by handing over the draft roll to the Political Parties.
A meeting in connection with the Publication of Draft Photo Electoral Roll pertaining to Special Summary Revision w.r.t. 01.01.2021 as the qualifying date was held in the DC’s Conference Hall, Kohima on 16th November 2020. The meeting was held with the representatives of political parties and all the AEROs under Kohima district.
ADC & ERO Kohima, Lithrongla Tongpi Rutsa on behalf of the District Election Officer & Deputy Commissioner, Kohima thanked all the political parties, AEROs and others involved in the successful conduct of the Bye-election 2020. She said that the draft photo electoral roll has been prepared for references, if any claims or objection for inclusion or deletion of names in the E-roll can be carried out within the time frame.
Assistant Election Officer, Kohima, Toshimeren Aier also highlighted on the revision activities where he informed that publication of integrated draft electoral roll was prepared for distribution today while period for filling claims and objections dates is scheduled from 16th November to 15th December 2020 and Special Campaign dates from 20th and 21st of November 2020 and 04th and 05th December 2020.
While Disposal of Claims and Objections by 5th January 2021 and checking of health parameters and obtaining Commission’s permission for final Publication and also updating data base and printing supplements by 14th January 2021 and final publication of Electoral Roll is fixed on 15th January 2021.
