MDLSA & NACWR conduct awareness to child &women rights


MOKOKCHUNG, September 30: Mokokchung District Legal Services Authority (MDLSA) in collaboration with Nagaland Alliance for Children & Women’s Right (NACWR) with Care & Support Society (C&SS) organized a seminar on Child and Women Rights at Ongpangkong Salang on 28th September 2018.
Speaking on Protection of Women from Domestic Violence Act, 2005, Mrs. Sentinaro Longchar, Project Assistant MDLSA appraised that domestic violence could be harms or injures or endangers the health, safety, life, limb or well being, whether mental or physical, of the aggrieved person or tends to do so and includes causing physical abuse, sexual abuse, verbal and emotional abuse and economic abuse.
She also explained the powers and duties of protection officers, service providers, etc when an aggrieved person is a victim of such crime.
I Imkong, Retainer Lawyer MDLSA spoke on Protection of Children from Sexual Violence Act, 2012 and adoption and surrogacy, while Mapujungla, Panel Lawyer MDLSA spoke on child labour. Welcome address was delivered by Sapo, Asssitant Director C&SS and vote of thanks by Imchawati Kichu, MD, C&SS and District Coordinator, NACWR.
