Dimapur, June 14: Muslim community in Dimapur and Kohima has decided to continue with the closure of all Masjids in the two districts till June 30.
This was decided in a meeting conveyed by the Muslim Council Dimapur on June 14 and attended by all the nine Jama Masjids and few Panjagana Masjids and in consultation with the Kohima Jama Masjid, informed MCD working president A Rahman. After June 30, another meeting will be convened to discuss further measures depending on the condition of the pandemic.
The meeting unanimously extended gratitude to the Government of Nagaland for partial modification of May 4 order and making ways for reopening of prayer houses by an order dated June 10 with certain riders. Though the tough conditions for opening the prayer houses may be followed but the meeting decided to continue with the closure for the larger interest of the society and also to lend helping hand to the Government to fight the pandemic, Rahman said.
The meeting further advised all Masjid Committees to disinfect their masjid premises and make necessary changes as per the guidelines and to prepare for the reopening in the near future. (Page News Service)
