Dimapur, May 26: The feast of Mary Help of Christians, the patroness of the Cathedral and the diocese of Kohima, was celebrated on Sunday. Most Rev. Dr. Dominic Lumon , the Archbishop of Imphal was the main celebrant of the Holy Eucharist and con-celebrated by Rev. Frs. Carolus Neisalhou, Vicar General, C.J Jaison, Principal of St. Mary’s Cathedral school, George Punnoil, Titus Zimik, Lawrence Khing and Victor Renthungo. During the celebration 55children received the sacrament of the first Holy Communion.
In his homily, Archbishop explained the significance of the feast of the ascension. He said that the observance of this feast is of a feast of hope that gives the Christian philosophy of life. He also added that the feast reminds us that we are in relationship with each other and we are to love and help each other.
Earlier the Parish Priest, Fr. Carolus Neisalhou delivered his festal greetings to all the praishoners and thanked them for their fervent expression and living of Catholic Christian faith.
Special song of praise was presented by the first communicants after the reception of the Holy communion.
