Marvel in no hurry to reboot X-Men

X-Men: Dark Phoenix, starring Sophie Turner, James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender and Jennifer Lawrence, has turned out to be a damp squib at the box office. After the staggering success of Avengers: Endgame, Dark Phoenix, which was a conclusion to the X-Men franchise failed to live up to expectations. It was panned by critics and registered the worst debut for any X-Men film.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, X-Men was meant to add 10 years to the Marvel Cinematic Universe lifespan. However, after the Dark Phoenix debacle, president of Marvel Studios, Kevin Feige, and the team are slowing down the reboot for the Marvel mutants.
A source told the portal, “There is no rush to bring the X-Men to the marketplace after this. And when they come back, it’s going to extend Marvel’s run another 10 years.”
X-Men: Dark Phoenix is expected to lose over 100 million dollars at the box office.
The film revolved around Jean Grey, played by Turner and how she struggles with newfound powers after she is struck by solar flares.
However, hot on her trail is an alien race who wants to absorb her powers. The film has been called the most unsatisfactory and disappointing conclusion to the 19-year X-Men franchise.
