Marina Yashmin tops HSSLC Commerce stream

Dimapur, May 18: Marina Yashmin, the daughter of a watch repairer who runs a small shop at Church Road this year topped in the commerce stream of HSSLC examinations. Interestingly, she was nowhere in the list of toppers when she had completed her HSLC from Zakiesato Memorial Higher Secondary School, Dimapur.
Talking to Nagaland Page about her success here at her residence at Zakiesato Colony, she appeared understandably excited and expressed that she was so tensed regarding the results that she decided to not find out herself and eventually her school i.e., Pranab Vidyapith Higher Secondary School informed her about it over phone.
“I was expecting to be one of the toppers, but not to be the number one,” she said. Her parents, who were equally mused, shared the same thought.
Marina, who scored a total of 97.20% marks to top the table, also scored highest marks in the state in Entrepreneurship (98) and Fundamentals of mathematics (100).
Talking about her study routine, she revealed that she had maintained a strict routine everyday and during exams she would study more hours than usual. Besides schools and two tuitions, she used to study more than five hours each day, which translated to her success. She also didn’t forget to give credit to her parents and teachers on the occasion.
When asked if she has anything to say to her juniors who would appear next years and years after than for the same examinations, she simply said that they should listen to the advice of their teachers and follow the instructions of their parents.
Marina, unlike many, doesn’t have but any plan to move out of Dimapur for further studies and want to pursue B.Com from here.
