Well-wishers, churches, Kohima Chamber of Commerce & Industries, Chief Minister of Manipur and legislators from Nagaland and Manipur extended a total amount of Rs 28 lakh to the committee set up to collect relief for the victims, informed the members of the committee.
Nagaland government had earlier extended cash relief of Rs 50 lakh for the vendors of the markets and tenants living in adjoining houses.
They said that this time the relief collected through the generous contribution of well-wishers was even extended to the market building and residential building owners, beside 109 variety shop vendors, 44 vegetable vendors and 17 families or tenants in residential buildings.
Bethel Hospital and Sokhriezou Market complex were also partially impacted by the fire, however the owners willfully refused to take the relief, they said.
