Major renovation work in  NHAK soon: Pangnyu

Dimapur, May 6: Minister for Health & Family Welfare, S Pangnyu Phom said major renovation work in Naga Hospital Authority Kohima will start soon under NHP Project and urged every staff and patients visiting the hospital to consider it as one’s own property.
Interacting with doctors and nurses of the hospital today, Phom also disclosed that NHAK will support to run the Nagaland Medical College until the 500 bedded hospital attached with Nagaland Medical College is constructed.
NHAK will play a vital role in uplifting the Medical College, he said.
Phom also expressed anguish on seeing the rising land encroachers within the hospital and said the patta issuing authority should carefully verify the land before issuing any patta. He appealed to the citizens to be more responsible.
The Minister also inspected the ongoing Terci Care Cancer Center (TCCC) construction and asked the management to expedite the works to make sure that the project complete at the earliest.
The Managing Director (MD), NHAK briefed the Minister that the work can’t be executed as desired due to technical problems and unstable soil, if not the contractor is ready to go ahead with the works.
It may be mentioned that this is the first TCCC in the State.
The Minister acknowledged the service of the doctors, nurses and staff of the hospital and also conveyed appreciation for keeping the hospital clean and asked the staff to strive to make NHAK one of the cleanest hospitals in the State.
The Health Minister also expressed gratitude to the Kohima Ao Baptist Arogo (KABA) for voluntary construction of patient’s guest house in the hospital campus. He lauded the KABA for always being in the frontline for any social contributions.
