M/s Infraconstruction Ltd not following technical specification, alleges Lotha Hoho

Dimapur, February 22: The Lotha Hoho Wokha today alleged that the Lucknow based contractor M/s CS Infraconstruction Limited is not following the technical specification in the execution of the contract work of Wokha-Merapani Highway upgradation to two-lane.
It said the non-compliance of specification has been observed since the work activities started sometime in October 2017.
Stating that there can be no compromise whatsoever, the Lotha organizations in a meeting held on February 11 last at Wokha resolved that unless the contractor complies with the specifications and the widening earthwork is started immediately, they would seek legal recourse in the court of law.
In a press release, Lotha Hoho Chairman, Er Mhondamo Ovung and general secretary, S Abenthung Ngullie stated that the Detailed Project Report (DPR) of the Road Project clearly states “Rehabilitation and Augmentation shall include widening and strengthening of the Project Highway”; and “the Carriageway shall be of Two lane (7 meters) / intermediate lane (5.5 meters) wide as per IRC SP: 73-2015 for plain terrain and IRC SP : 48 19198 for hilly terrain” vide Schedule H of DPR.
The release further stated that the beneficiary Lotha organizations, led by the Lotha Hoho, have time and again held consultations with both the contractor and the NHIDCL, requesting for adherence to DPR Specifications; but the contractor does not seem to pay any heed to the voice of the beneficiary community led by the Lotha Hoho. It said there is no other option but to seek for legal recourse.
It also said the concerned authority may also carry out a site verification similar to the one done by the Deputy Chief Minister, Nagaland, at NH 702, in the last week of January 2019.
As per the resolution adopted in the meeting of February 11 at Wokha, the Lotha organizations through its Apex Tribal Hoho, will take its own course of action and for any untoward consequence the contractor M/S CS Infraconstruction Ltd and the NHIDCL will be solely responsible.
