LYO, LSU condemns May 15 assault

Dimapur, May 18: The Lhisemia Youth Organisation and Lhisemia Students’ Union have condemned the assault on some persons on the night of May 15 at Pezielietsie, L Khel in Kohima Village.
In a press release, they stated that the perpetrators involved in the “heinous act” have been handed over to the law enforcement agency on the night of May 17.
It stated that they were against “violence in any forms on tribal lines” and do not support the offenders involved in the act.
“We convey our utmost solidarity to the Kohima Sumi Students’ Union and the Sumi community in general and state with conviction to all right-thinking citizens in ensuring that timely justice is delivered. Further we would try to ensure in our capacity that such incidents do not occur in the future.
“We express our deep concern and sympathy to the two victims and their families and wish them a quick recovery”, it stated.
