LVC members sworn in

Dimapur, April 13: In the first of its kind, a village council swore over the Bible to be honest and diligent in the discharge of its duties according to the spirit of Christian principles at Lozaphuhu village under Phek district on April 12.

Delivering a welcome note and speaking on behalf of the organizers, Dr Zhokusheyi Rhakho said that a good system is necessary for producing a good leader, hence a swearing in over the Bible. It was a programme of not just to honour them but to bless and remind them of their responsibilities as well.
Fellow villagers from Dimapur, Kohima, Lanezho, Phek Town and the village gazetted officers’ forum also addressed the gathering.
The swearing in to the new elected council members was pronounced by Rev. Kevengo-iSakha, Pastor Lozaphuhu Baptist Church (LBC) and president CBCC while Rev Khrotso Mero, executive secretary, CBCC exhorted the gathering and prayed for the new council members.
New council chairman, KhusuzoKhamo also addressed the public on behalf of his team and assured to give their best and live up to the expectation and trust that has been bestowed on them and at the same time implored the people to extend cooperation towards the council. (Page News Service)
