Dimapur, July 8: ADC & Administrator, Longleng Town Council has prohibited employment of manual scavengers for cleaning of severs and septic tanks with immediate effect as per the Prohibition of Employment of Manual Scavengers and their Rehabilitation Rules 2013.
In an order, the LTC directed contractors to ensure strict compliance to the provisions of the rules. Timely inspection shall be carried out in this regard and defaulters penalized as per relevant provisions of law, the order stated.
