Nagaland News

DIMAPUR, MARCH 27: Independent candidate for the 18th Lok Sabha Election from 1-Nagaland Parliamentary Constituency, Hayithung Bill Lotha today claimed that there is “intense pressure” from various quarters to make him withdraw his candidature.
“There is currently an intense pressure from various quarters to “make me withdraw my Lok Sabha independent candidature”,” he claimed in a statement issued today.
Hayithung Bill Lotha was the first candidate from Nagaland to file his nomination paper for the 18th Lok Sabha Election on March 22.
Despite the pressure, Hayithung Bill said he will stand by his “political ideology, philosophy and principles. “…but I have strongly decided to stand by my “political ideology, philosophy and principles” as I believe in the beauty of India as the world’s largest democracy”, he stated.
Various political alliances want me on their side as “I am a man deeply rooted in Naga Nationalism and the greater interest of the Nagas as a whole”, he claimed.
“There are some rumours about “my Lok Sabha race withdrawal”, I declare do not believe any of it. There is absolutely no truth in it as I am not a money/material wealth monger”, he said while declaring that he will fight with zeal the ensuing Lok Sabha polls.
