Dimapur, August 23: The Land Owners Union NH-29 (Purana Bazaar to Chumoukedima), Dimapur has decided to file a case in the court of law against what it alleged is the Government of Nagaland “apathetic behavior” towards land owner compensation issue pertaining to NH-29 road widening from Purana Bazaar- Chumoukedima.
In a final notice issued today, the LOU, NH-29 reminded that the Guwahati High Court (Kohima Bench) had passed judgment in favour of the union through its Order No. W.P(C) No.98 (K) 2000 passed on dated 25/09/2000.
Subsequently in pursuance of the court’s order, the union said it had approached the Government on three occasions and submitted a memorandum to Deputy Commissioner, Dimapur through its letter dated 01/05/2019; representation to the Commissioner Nagaland through its letter dated 18/06/2019 and representation to the Chief Secretary Nagaland through its letter dated 15/07/2019.
“However, the Government defiance to the call was unfortunate and as such, the union is constrained to issue this final notice that it will file a case in the court after one week from the date of publication of this notice,” it said.
The union urged the public to understand the union`s stand and not construe it otherwise.
