Lotha Hoho to represent Lotha tribe in Naga solution

Dimapur, September 28: The Lotha Hoho (LH) has been authorized to represent the Lotha tribe in all consultations, decision making and signing of any document related to Naga political settlement.
The authorization was unanimously given in a meeting of all Lotha frontal organizations at Wokha on September 23.
In a statement, LH chairman Mhondamo Ovung and joint secretary Amos Odyuo said in the meeting the LH was also empowered to co opt members from various Lotha organizations and subject experts to assist the Hoho in the matter.
The house also resolved that if any member of the Lotha Hoho is, in any way threatened or opposed, by any group or individual, in the initiatives of Naga political settlement, the Lotha tribe will take collective stern action against the culprit.
The meeting also demanded that the agreed points or competencies between the Government of India and the Naga political negotiators be made known to the Naga people, before signing the final agreement.
The house also recalled that the Naga political movement took its roots in the Lotha soil starting with NNC formation in February 1946 at Wokha, 1951 at Sanis to decide on Naga Plebiscite, etc. In 1994 the Nagas of Nagaland convened a meeting at Wokha and the Naga Hoho was formed.
“Recounting these historic events that took place in Lotha soil it is testified that the Lotha people have sacrificed and suffered much like any Naga and the Lotha Hoho fully support the Naga National
Movement and Settlement. Likewise all Nagas must sacrifice petty personal differences and work
unitedly for the common Naga cause,” said the statement.
The Lotha Hoho prayed that all the negotiators be blessed with divine wisdom so that they are able to bring home a solution that is honourable and acceptable to the Nagas. (Page News Service)
