Dimapur, June 1: In connection with celebration of World No Tobacco Day in Longleng the Mahila Shakti Kendra (MSK) – District Level Centre for Women in collaboration with the district administration, Longleng organized “Postal designing competition” to mark the theme of the celebration 2020: “Protecting youth from Industry manipulation and preventing them from tobacco and nicotine use”
Altogether 47 students from class 8 – 12 from different schools under Longleng participated in the competition.
Henmoi class – 10 of Shamakok Mission School Longleng and Shingmei T Phom class – 12 of GHSS Longleng was placed in the 1st and 2nd position respectively.
Niamchai class – 9 of St. Joseph School and N. Chunri Phom class – 9 of Vision Vale School bagged the 2nd runners up.
Certificate, cash prize and gift hampers were given to the best four and while certificate and gift hampers were also given to all the participating students. Competition was held on May 31 and result was declared on June 1.
Meanwhile, the MSK in collaboration with District Task Force on BBBP and district administration distributed emergency kit to the quarantine centres, Longleng on June 1. The MSK, BBBP and the district administration will be giving such emergency kit to all the returnees of the district, it was informed. (Page News Service)
