Kohima panic buy

Kohima, May 11: Following the announcement of a full lockdown throughout Nagaland by the High Powered Committee (HPC), starting from 6 pm on May 14 to May 21, marketplaces in Kohima, witnessed large turnout of people resorting to panic buying.

A police officer on duty at PHQ junction, Kohima, said that people and vehicles started to increase around 10:30 am to the point that it was like any other day without lockdown. “This entire surge in the movement of vehicles and people happened after the news of a total lockdown broke out as people are coming out to get essential commodities,” he said.
