Livelihood training held

Dimapur, March 15: Canaan Hands C-Edge College, in partnership with Life Ministry Learning Centre (LMLC), organised a two-day livelihood training on March 11 and 12.
A press release informed that Canaan Hands is a voluntary group of students and faculty whose main motto is to work, to sacrifice and to gain self-reliance. It is an offshoot of Canaan Farmers’ Spirit where the principles of work and work ethics are taught under the programme.
The objective behind the two days training was to let the students understand and learn various approaches on livelihood promotion and to experience working with the soil and learn methods of organic farming.
During the two days training, skills on organic farming methods (Indigenous microorganism, Rice Husk Charcoal, Bokashi, Water Soluble Calcium Phosphate, Water-soluble Calcium Phosphate and Insect Repellent Bio Pesticide), handmade soap making, basic first aid, and confectionery products such as biscuit making and pickle making were taught to the students.
The training commenced with introductory session where the resource persons, Samuel and Alemla from LMLC, spoke about the life skills and its importance in one’s life.
They also highlighted the overall aim of the livelihood training program is to obtain knowledge based on management skills through handmade and small skills on Agro based methods and healthy farming with the Canaan Hands of C-Edge College.
