KOHIMA, JULY 18: “Workers of ‘Züb Züb’ has been cleaning up the stretch of the road between TCP gate and North PS Junction, 5 hours a day for about a month only to find that the same spot, which the team have cleared the day before, has been littered again”, said its founder, Pelenuo Yhome.

Züb Züb, a firm that offers professional cleaning services have been engaged by the Kohima Smart City Development Limited to carry out its “Litter Free Kohima City” campaign for three months in an effort to make the city clean.
Speaking to Nagaland Page, Yhome said “We have the belief that everyone can be a part of this clean up drive but what the team is focussing on is to sensitize and create awareness to the people.”
“Of the myriad of litters the Züb Züb team encounters on a daily basis, Ghutka packets have proved to be the biggest nuisance of them all”, she added.
Presently, the Züb Züb team has shifted their operations to the stretch of the highway between Dzuvuru and Red Cross Complex.
Sharing her observation of over two weeks of working at the said stretch, Yhome said
“One encouraging thing which we’ve noticed is that the shop owners and the pedestrians along this stretch are receptive to the idea of a litter free city.”

“They are going to the extent of not only setting up trash bins but they are also encouraging people to make use of the trash bins if they find people doing otherwise”, she added.
