Dimapur, July 31: A literacy competition (Debate, Essay and Painting) on the theme “Plastic Free Nagaland” was organized by Wokha Police on July 27 under the mentorship of Superintendent of Police, Wokha, Manoj Kumar, IPS. The competition was organized for the children of police personnel studying in different schools in the district.
The SP in his key note address advocated for a beautiful and plastic free Police Reserve and urged the participating students to be an ambassador for a plastic free environment.
SDPO Wokha, Imkongsangba Jamir welcomed all the participants and wished them the best. He also highlighted the concept and purpose of the competition.
Mharoni Mozhui, Regimental School (RS), Mercy M Tsopoe (RS) and Lochumbeni C Odyuo (RS) bagged the first, second and third in the debate competition. Thechano Ezung (Santsuo School), Epilo M Ngullie (RS) and Zadeno (Don Bosco Higher Secondary School) & Nzanbeni (RS) won the award in the essay competition, in the painting competition Nongo A Odyuo (RS, Lithungo Humtsoe (RS) and Lansothung (RS) received the first, second and third respectively.
This event is the third activity initiated by SP Wokha for a plastic free environment within the police reserve lines. Other activities like putting up of banners, signpost and organizing workshop on paper bag making were also conducted.
The judges for the competition were OC Wokha, UBSI Anito, NK Renbei and Head Master, Regimental School Edward Ngullie. (Page News Service)
