Dimapur, April 3: As the lockdown continues in Dimapur to contain the spread of COVID-19, the members of Lions Club of Dimapur led by its president, Narottam Jha took up the task of providing food items to the poor and needy.
The Lions Club members have been doing philanthropic activities since March 30 and have distributed rice, dal, potatoes, milk, salt etc to several families in and around Dimapur town.
The LCD provided food items to 500 people at Kuda village, whose conditions were pathetic due to the lockdown.
They also provided food items to autorickshaws drivers, thelawallahs, ice-cream sellers and daily wage labourers.
Around 260 people, mostly autorickshaw drivers and daily wage labourers were provided rice, dal, potatoes, salt etc near Kuda village area, behind Greenwood School.
Similar food items were provided to 57 people at Nagarjan area, while 15 daily wage earners near MST, who were without ration were also provide necessary ration.
The Lions Club members also visited Naharbari area and distributed rice, potatoes and salt.
Today, the members distributed tea and biscuits to all police persons at Khermahal Police point, Tragopan Police point, City tower junction , Holy cross junction , Bata charali junction , Nagarjan Police point and Railway station
The members expressed gratitude to Lion Ravi Poddar and his wife Pinky for arranging everything. (Page News Service)
