LH serves ultimatum to CS Infraconstruction Ltd

Dimapur, April 15: The Lotha Hoho (LH) has served a three-point ultimatum to M/s CS Infraconstruction Ltd executing the Wokha-Merapani highway up-gradation to two-lane, which should be implemented latest by April 30 next.
In a press release, the LH alleged that the Lucknow based M/s CS infraconstruction Limited is not following the technical specifications in the execution of the contract work.
The hoho demanded that all widening works to be started for the three packages (package 1, package 2 and package 3), all personnel/staff of M/s CS Infraconstruction Ltd engaged in the Wokha- Merapani highway project to produce their appointment orders along with identity card to the Monitoring & Vigilance Committee of the Lotha Hoho and to stop all other works, except widening earthwork, till completion of the widening work.
The LH warned that Lotha organizations will take its own course of action if the contractor fails to implement the ultimatum
The release said the Wokha-Merapani highway being an important road for the district for transportation of most of the essential commodities; the Lotha organisations led by the Monitoring and Vigilance Committee of the Hoho in a meeting at Wokha on April 12 have resolved that unless the contractor complies with the specifications and the widening earthwork is started latest by April 30, the organisations will not allow the contractor to proceed further.
The hoho lamented that in spite of all sincere efforts of the beneficiary community organisations, the contractor has, till date, not started the widening work; but instead have constructed culverts and started collecting stone chips; probably for carpeting. It reminded that the contract work is for rehabilitation cum up gradation of the road to two lane with Carriageway of 7.00 meters for plain sector and 5.50 meters for hilly terrain; and hence the formation cutting includes the shoulders as well as provision for drain.
LH said the contractor has brought a few Backhoe fuel loaders (three or four) and an equal number of dippers (dumpers) only, for the entire stretch, and is not doing any widening earthwork so far. It wondered as to how the contractor is going to do the widening after constructing culverts and other second and third stage work items!
Demanding that the widening work be started latest by April 30, the LH warned that it will not allow the contractor to proceed further. It said for any untoward consequence the contractor M/s CS Infraconstruction Ltd and the NHIDCL will be responsible. (Page News Service)
