Legislators in-charge of monitoring COVID-19 holds review meeting in Kohima

Dimapur, March 26: Minister Housing, Tongpang Ozukum and Advisor Urban Development and Municipal Affairs, Dr. Neikiesalie Kire, the legislators in-charge of monitoring the Covid 19 situation in Kohima District held a brief review meeting with the Kohima Covid 19 District Task Force on Thursday at DPDB Conference Hall Kohima.
The Chairman of the Kohima District Task Force and DC Kohima Gregory Thejawelie gave a detailed and updated report on the precautionary measures undertaken and the system set in place to tackle any outbreak of the dreaded Covid 19 in the district.
CMO Kohima, who is also a member of the District Task Force, further briefed the house on the preparations and medical facilities that have been set up by the Medical department to facilitate proper quarantine of suspected cases and proper isolated treatment wards incase of any positive Covid 19 cases. The house also discussed in detail various related issues such as law and order situation in the district during the 21 day lockdown and also took stock of the availability of essential commodities in the market.
The members of the Kohima District Task Force also brought to the notice of the Legislators the various difficulties and challenges faced by them in dealing with the pandemic to which the Legislators promised they would take the matter up at the highest level.
The house also took time to discuss the all important matter of the welfare of the daily wage earners who might find it virtually impossible to sustain themselves financially during the 21 day lockdown.
The Legislators also expressed their deep concern regarding the issue of the daily wage earners and said that the Government was looking into the issue with urgency and would come up with a solution to the problem at the earliest. (Page News Service)
