Legislator Imtikumzuk passes away

Dimapur, September 22: NDPP MLA & Advisor, Sericulture & Excise, Imtikumzuk passed away today in Apollo Hospital, New Delhi after a prolonged illness.
His mortal remains will arrive at Dimapur airport on Sunday from there shall proceed to Kohima. On Monday, it would be taken to Mokokchung by road, where a state funeral would be held at Ungma village on September 25.

Governor of Nagaland PB Acharya has expressed sadness at the untimely demise of Imtikumzuk Longkumer, Advisor Sericulture & Excise and former Deputy Speaker who passed away on in New Delhi.
In a condolence message Governor Acharya said that the contributions made by Late Imtikumzuk for the welfare of the people of Nagaland as a Member of the Nagaland Legislative Assembly will be remembered forever. In his demise, people of Nagaland have lost a tall and prominent leader, the Governor added.
Governor Acharya conveyed his heartfelt condolence to the members of the bereaved family and prayed to Almighty God to grant strength and solace to bear the irreparable loss.
CM: Chief Minister, Neiphiu Rio has expressed shock and pain at the demise of Imtikumzuk at New Delhi today.
In a condolence message, he said that late Imtikumzuk was an upcoming statesman who was making his mark in the political history of the State.
Stating that his early demise has left a deep void in the State and is a big loss to the family, village and the party, Rio said late Imtikumzuk was a great asset to the Government as well as the NDPP and his absence will be felt tremendously.
In this hour of grief, Rio on behalf of the Government of Nagaland and on behalf of my family, expressed deepest condolences to the bereaved family members and all their near and dear ones.
T R Zeliang: Leader of Opposition, T R Zeliang has expressed grief at the demise of Imtikumzuk, MLA from Aonglenden constituency in Mokokchung District.
In a condolence message, Zeliang stated that late Imtikumzuk was elected to the 12th House on INC ticket and later joined NPF. He served with grit and sincerity as Parliamentary Secretary and also as Deputy Speaker during the 12th House and was serving as Advisor in this 13th House.
He extended deepest condolences to his wife Imkongzenla and children and all bereaved family members.

The NDPP in particular have not only lost a promising leader, but a comrade who had shown his enthusiasm and courage to build the party with utmost loyalty and dedication, NDPP president, Chingwang Konyak said.

BJP: The BJP has expressed grief at the untimely demise of late Imtikumzuk and said was a God fearing leader and an ardent supporter in all aspects of social endeavour whose death has created a vacuum.
In a condolence message, BJP president, Temjen Imna Along stated that late Imtikumzuk started his political career in 2008 and has been continuously serving in various capacity in the Nagaland Legislative Assembly till date.
Stating that Nagaland has lost a great soul whose untiring, selfless services rendered to the people of the state would be cherished, the BJP president shared heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family.
The party also prayed that God grant eternal peace and rest to the departed soul.
NPP: The NPP Nagaland Unit has expressed grief at the demise of Imtikumzuk, legislature from Aonglenden constituency, former NLA Deputy Speaker and Advisor sericulture and excise.
Stating that he was a valuable and a highly respected person of a great character and his untimely death will be a great loss for the state, the team of NPP State Unit extended heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and prayed that the Almighty give comfort and solace as the departed soul makes his restful journey.
