Leadership training held

DIMAPUR, OCTOBER 18: The Nagaland Chapter of the Young Indians (Yi) held a ‘leadership training’ today at Kuda Cafe, Half Nagarjan with founder and Managing Director, Bambusa Express, Medo Putsure as the resource person. It was attended by professionals and entrepreneurs from varied fields.
Medo Putsure explaining the concept of ‘Young Indians’ said that it is an integral part of Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) formed in 2002 as a pan Indian platform for young Indians to realize the dreams of a developed nation and through its programmes and initiatives it reaches out to millions of youths across the country through a network of 43 chapters with clarion call to action, ‘We can, We will’.
On Nagaland chapter of Young Indians he said since the last few years it has been functioning with 16 members and regularly it conducts meetings and seminars on varied subjects.
Deliberating at length on the leadership skills, Medo Putsure said the beauty of leadership is such that most people will start working with trust under you and leadership is a process by which an executive decides guides and influence the behavior and work of others.
“Leadership is the most difficult aspect when it comes to managing people and here the entire focus depends on his abilities and capabilities. The moment we try to get the best out of people, we enhance our leadership skills”, he said.
Arguing with the often repeated question, ‘are leaders born’? “Some may possess traits of leadership qualities but it is not that one is born as a leader. Anyone and everyone can become a leader”, he said.
On qualities of a leadership he stressed that a leader has to be influential and respectable and it is developed daily not in a day.
Sharing his experience on leadership skills, he said that anyone can steer the ship, but it takes a leader to chart the course.
“Leaders add value by serving others. Trust is the foundation of leadership and only secure leaders give powers to others and added that a leaders potential is determined by those closest to him. A leader finds a way for the team to win and to think beyond is one of the essential traits of a leader, he stated.
He urged the gatherings to utilize the 21 sets of leaderships skills in their daily lives handed to all. Working hard and working smart should be the motto of youngsters and all alike. A leader’s lasting value is measured by his succession.
Questions were raised by many of the participants and a video presentation was made to explain further the 21 sets of leadership skills one should imbibe for furthering their business and also in social and political life. (Page News Service)
