Dimapur, April 8: A newly constructed church for the believers of Lahing Koilajungle has been dedicated to Lord by Rev. Dr. Lima Jamir, Professor, Eastern Theological College, Jorhat today.
How this new church got constructed:
A Christian person by name Rohit Tudo and his family has been worshiping the Lord at Hingbolia Baptist Church for the past 17 years, which is located 8 km away from his village. Gradually another family from this locality embraced Christ.
They now decided to build a Church of their own. Tudo and his family decided to donate a plot of land for it adjacent to his residence. They could mobilise to erect 8 cemented post for this church construction till last December. Since their resources ran dry, they approached the members of the Assam Valley Baptist Mission to come to their aid. At this, the Assam Valley Baptist Mission (AVBM) could connect the family members of Tekameri and Lanuchuba Mission based at Dimapur for stake holding for this noble cause thereby the construction of this very church could come to a reality today.
A host of believers and church leaders from the surrounding churches took part in today’s dedication service.
Akang Longkumer (Tekameri mission) exhorted the gathering on behalf of Tekameri and Lanuchuba mission. He was accompanied by another two members, Temjen Longkumer and Sutsung Longkemer representing Lanuchuba mission. Puspo Sawra, Pastor of Hingbolia Baptist Church said the gist of founding this church.
Gopin Ghatwal who has successfully completed Bible diploma from Impur Bible School (IBS) last December, has been installed in today’s service by Rev. Dr. Lima Jamir to work as a Youth Pastor for AVBM. Gopin’s IBS studies was fully sponsored by Kumlong Baptist church, Mokokchung. Further, this same Church has committed to sponsor his salaries too for furthering the God’s work in the tea gardens in the Nagaland Assam foothills areas under the aegis of AVBM.
