Lack of coordination hindering progress of road works: CS

Dimapur, May 13: Nagaland Chief Secretary, Temjen Toy, IAS today has said lack of coordination between different departments is the main hindrance in obstructing progress of developmental works in the State. He urged the departments not to blame each other but instead find solution to settle issues at the level of HoDs.
He was addressing a coordination committee meeting with all line departments involved with National Highways & Infrastructure Development Corporation (NHIDCL) on May 13 in the Chief Secretary’s conference hall, Kohima.
The Chief Secretary said the main objective of the coordination meeting was to coordinate with all the stakeholders and together solve issues and problems faced by the line departments while carrying out development activities, particularly in road construction works by NHIDCL in the State.
He also asked the General Manager (Projects) to keep updating about the work progress to the department and Chief Secretary’s office on regular basis.
In the meeting, issues relating to finalization of alignment, land acquisition, land and other compensation, shifting of utilities and forest clearance were the main points of discussion where the AHoDs, HoDs and DCs highlighted the status of their respective departments and districts where NHIDCL works are being undertaken. AHoDs, HoDs and DCs attended the meeting.
