KVYO to ensure smooth conduct of repoll

Dimapur, March 1: Taking note of the re-poll ordered at booth number 29 in Upper AG colony of 9th Kohima Town A/C, the Kohima Village Youth Organisation (KVYO) has expressed regret and condemnation against those responsible for the same.
Reiterating previous resolutions to ensure smooth conduct of elections in its traditional jurisdictions, the KVYO said it will be on the spot to assist the colony panchayat and official government agencies to ensure that no disturbance is repeated at the polling booth.
The organization advised all the electorates to have on them official identity cards with the voter’s slip to avoid any misunderstanding. KVYO said it will be exercising ‘zero tolerance’ against any individual or group of people not registered at the polling booth and found interfering in the re-polling process.
“Proxy voters and elements causing public disturbances will face swift responses to their actions,” it warned.
The KVYO appreciated every colony panchayat and the colony youth leaders under Kohima town, Northern, Southern and Western A/C polling stations under its jurisdiction for overseeing and assisting government officials in successfully conducting peaceful polling. It also expressed appreciation to all the permanent residents under Kohima municipality and Kohima village localities who stayed back and voted in their respective polling stations without leaving for their ancestral village and districts. It also expressed gratitude to all electorates who have listened to the prayer of the Church and various organisations to do away with electoral malpractices.
