Dimapur, January 28: The Kohima Village Youth Organization (KVYO) has suspended the ban on movement of Government vehicles from High School Junction to New Secretariat and Pezielietsie via DBS-Billy Graham to New Secretariat road following acceptance of responsibility and apology tendered by the Road & Bridges Department (PWD) over slow progress in the construction of Sanuorü Bridge and non repairing/maintenance of BRO road from Pezielietsie to BSF camp.
In a meeting held today in the Kohima DC’s office chamber in connection with the call given by KVYO to restrict movement of Government vehicles, including vehicles of BRO/BRTF from January 29 to express their resentment, the R&B Department accepted responsibility in the delay caused and tendered apology and further assured to address all the issues raised by KVYO with all seriousness and to take up immediate remedial measures.
The OC 89 RCC also assured that immediate repairing works will be taken up on the road from Pezielietsie to BSF camp.
In view of the acceptance of responsibility and apology tendered by the R&B (PWD) Department, the KVYO decided to suspend the ban, said an official release.
The meeting chaired by DC Kohima was attended by Secretary and Chief Engineer of Road and Bridges (PWD), contractor, OC 89 RCC and KVYO.
