Dimapur, August 1: The Konyak Union (KU) has appealed to Minister for Health & Family Welfare and the concerned department to utilize Rs 1 crore sanctioned under Special State Plan for procurement of equipment for District Hospital Mon (DHM), through proper consultation with the Hospital Management Committee.
It said intensive caution should be taken so as to avoid any forms of anomalies and irregularities at the later stage.
The KU also demanded immediate installation of Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at DHM.
While expressing gratitude for the upgradation of the District Hospital Mon (DHM) to 100 bedded, the KU said it aspires for inclusive development so as to attain its actual purposes in the service for the humanity.
It said in accordance to the norms that every 100 bedded hospital should have a nursing school, it asked the department to ensure that the completed Nursing school and hostel building should be accordingly manned with requisite & sufficient tutors & students.
Stating that the present DHM is being manned by only 8 doctors, it said shifting of 100 bedded new building would be illogical if the management is left with only 8 doctors. It demanded that 22 doctors be stationed at DHM to smoothly deliver health services.
It also said the hospital would require 60 nurses for efficiently nursing the 100 bedded hospital.
Stating that casual workers play a vital role in hospital management system, the KU appealed for absorption of 14 casual workers, who were appointed during MSF period and further appealed for sanctioning 20 more additional posts for casual workers. (Page News Service)
